Production Operative with FLT Counterbalance

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator with a current, valid FLT counterbalance license for a chemical manufacturing site based in Rochdale. Hours of work are 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm rotating and the pay rate is £11.36 per hour, increasing to £12.69 after 12 consecutive weeks service.

As a flexible and motivated team member, you will work a two shift system, operating plant equipment and chemical processes safely and efficiently to maximize production output.

    £9.63ph + 18% shift allowance = £11.36ph.
    Increasing to £10.75ph + 18% shift allowance = £12.69ph after 12 weeks continuous service.

  • Role Specification:

    Key responsibilities:
    - Ensure all work is carried out safely and all near misses, incidents and accidents are reported/investigated
    - Operate plant machinery to manufacture products following standard operating procedures and in a safe and efficient manner
    - Setting up batches, checking, weighing and adding materials and physically moving batch materials where required
    - Complete all batch related documentation accurately and provide suitable handover to on-coming shifts
    - Clean vessels between batches to ensure no cross-contamination of product and/or materials to subsequent batches
    - Work as part of a team to ensure targets are met whilst maintaining quality standards and maximizing efficiency
    - Report plant maintenance work requirements to minimize downtime and cost
    - Keep work station clean, tidy and organized in line with the 5S approach
    - Identify areas for improvement and/or cost savings

  • Person Specification:

    Key candidate requirements:
    - Strong numerical ability with GCSE Math’s and English
    - Experience in a manufacturing process environment or the chemical industry is advantageous
    - Excellent team worker able to adapt to changing priorities
    - Computer literate
    - FLT Counterbalance license essential
