Manufacturing/Production Manager

We are seeking a Manufacturing / Production Manager for an award winning E-Commerce branding business based in Manchester.  To implement lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and work with the stakeholders on change management projects in this fast paced environment.  The business is not only looking to continue its substantial growth, but to transform an industry. Supplying a wide range of customers.

About the role
You will be delivering a world class manufacturing and production operation to support the business vision. This will involve you using your manufacturing knowledge to ensure all operational targets are achieved across; H&S, Quality, Cost, Service and employee engagement are achieved and continually improved. You will be a hands on manager working with the production team and the other departments to ensure a successful and smooth running structure, change management and continuous improvement experience is a key to success.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership of product manufacture from cradle to grave
Recruiting and developing of outstanding talent into your teams as the business grows
Keep yourself at the forefront of garment decoration technology to ensure the business stays ahead of the completion in speed and quality of orders
Identify capacity issues and suggest investment options
Liaise with finance and Operations Director to monitor departmental spend and ensure value for money is achieved

The successful Manufacturing / Production Manager, will have the following skills and experience:
At least 5 years’ experience leading a multi shift with 7 direct reports and an average of 70 indirect reports within a FMCG E-commerce environment
Evidence of success coaching / mentoring team members
Evidence of Six Sigma green belt and or above
Demonstrable experience of leading successful change management projects
Compliant in continual improvement CI methodologies, and able to deliver strategic data evidence to board level
IOSH / NEBOSH qualification
Knowledge of printing technology would be ideal but is not essential
Ability to manage multi-team budget, including direct labour cost management
The ability to work to targets and achieve KPIs
Excellent customer focus and commitment to ensuring customer satisfactions
Excellent communications skills both verbal and written

In return for your hard work and dedication you will be rewarded with a salary of £38,000 – £45,000 DOE, and a long list of benefits.
