QHSE Manager

  • Company Overview:

    On behalf of our client, who is a very well established local company we are looking for an experienced QHSE Manager to join their team.
    This is a 1 year maternity cover position beginning in November 2017 (this will also include a two month handover).
    You will report directly to the Managing Director and you will be instrumental in managing compliance, leading improvements across a small-medium manufacturing site from a Quality, H&S & Environmental perspective.

  • Role Specification:

    Lead the planning, co-ordinating, monitoring and implementation of company policies ensuring that operations comply with relevant legislation such as COSHH, DSEAR, Fire, LOLER, PUWER, WaH, MH & Noise
    Be responsible for carrying out process & activity based risk assessments
    Writing and ensuring compliance with safe systems of work (SSW)
    Staff observation to ensure on-going safe working practices and housekeeping standards are maintained.
    Investigating H&S/Quality/Environmental ‘near Misses’.
    Setting annual H&S/Quality/Environmental objectives.
    Dealing with customer complaints, internal quality non-conformance’s and carrying out root cause analysis. Implementation of improvement measures.
    Develop new SOP’s for work activities (roles and responsibilities, manuals and procedures, etc.) and then introduction of them.
    Review and approve subcontractors (new/existing). Issue permits to work.
    Arranging annual plant maintenance/service visits/repairs to ensure operational continuity.

  • Person Specification:

    NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
    Proficient in Operational and EHS standards and regulations within the manufacturing sector
    Understanding of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management systems (i.e. OHS18001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
    Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to lead and influence others
    Proactive and highly motivated with a passion for continuous improvement and change.

  • Any Other Business:

    Experience of working with chemicals will be a distinct advantage.
