Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer DAYS

The Company

Due to new and exciting growth plans of the UK’s leading PVC manufacturers are looking to recruit a Mechanically Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer based at their head office in Greater Manchester on a DAYS postion 8:00am – 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the General Manager this will be a very much hands on proactive role.
•The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of fault diagnosing, electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance of the machinery within the Automated Production Department.
• Working closely with the department heads, you will follow the production requirements
• Ensure that machine tooling / component changes are carried out smoothly and efficiently.
• Ensure that the machines are operating at the optimum running speeds, advising on continuous improvements to improve on an already well established department.
• All machines are driven using the Siemens PLC and control system, using air control pick and place Afag units, some with Mitsubishi robots arms.

About you:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role with an extensive understanding of the Siemens PLC systems. In addition, the ability to identify potential issues and advise on corrective course of measures

A focused team player with a strong character with the aim of further improving the department, creative and the ability to convey their own ideas to the department

Desired Criteria

• Apprentice trained
• Mechanically biased with good electrical knowledge
• Experienced in working on Siemens PLC’s
• Applicants should have a good general standard of education.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• A good team player capable of delivering results under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Ability to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Quality focused.
• Ability to be flexible in hours of work (a must), a positive “can do” enthusiastic attitude towards addressing technical process challenges.
