Labourer with FLT

Northern Employment Services are currently recruiting for a general operative to join the expanding team of our client based in the Rochdale area. General operatives must have previous experience in a similar role, hold a full UK driving licence and a proven track record of FLT (reach or counterbalance) work.

 

Duties as a General Operative will include but not be limited to:

  • General Loading and unloading wagons (including Fork Truck Driving)
  • Inspection of equipment on goods receipt and ensure all goods are as they are on   delivery note (i.e. no shortages)
  • Goods receipting (logging onto computer system) and identification/marking up
  • Correctly locating goods inward onto contract shelves/into correct stores location
  • Ensure storage areas for contract equipment and stock are all maintained and organised to ensure efficient issuing, distribution and despatch
  • Taking materials/equipment from stores to production area
  • Checking all stock levels and ensuring these levels are maintained at all times
  • Collection and delivery of goods from suppliers and/or customers using company vehicles
  • Packing goods ready for despatch
  • Assisting Mechanical, Fabrication and Service Technicians when required
  • Upkeep of company tools/equipment, including in-house calibration
  • General maintenance of company buildings, land and vehicles – undertaking minor repairs, scheduled maintenance etc…..
  • General maintenance tasks which will be varied, these will include but not be limited to emptying workshop bins, tidying benches, sweep floors, cleaning down machines, ensuring tool benches and cupboards are in good order

 

Essential skills:

  • Applicants for the role of general operative must hold a full driving licence as part of your role will be to operate FLT’s on public roads.
  • FLT reach or counterbalance experience is also a must.

 

 

Working hours equate to 47 hours per week, Monday to Friday with plenty of overtime available.
