Injection Moulding Setter/Technician

The Company

One of the UK’s leading PVC manufacturers are looking to recruit an Experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter/ Technician due to new and exciting growth plans based at their head office in Greater Manchester on a rotating Double Days shift pattern. 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm rotating weekly Monday to Friday.


• Set precision injection moulding machines to produce components to an acceptable standard.
• Ensure that containers that receive the moulded parts are checked and emptied on a regular basis.
• Loading and unloading of injection mould tools.
• Emptying containers holding the moulded parts and moving approved products to the holding areas.
• Checking product quality, colour, shape and size ensuring that the sprue are placed into the correct material bins for grinding.
• Assist in the safe starting and shutting down of the injection moulding machinery at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Some physical lifting of loads may be necessary during the course of the working day, especially when handling Injection Mould Tools and 25kg bags of plastic.
• Your work place and working area must be kept clean and tidy.
• Safety footwear is deemed compulsory in this area and must be worn at all times.
• Perform within the requirements of your position and to the companies Health & Safety standards, as defined in the company Health & Safety Policy.
• Work to the companies quality system in line with the requirements of ISO 9002. A fully documented Procedures Manual has been developed to ensure the requirements are met.
• Carry out any other duties when required. This could involve working in other departments within the factory as and when deemed necessary.

About you

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of modern Microprocessor Injection Moulding machines, have the ability to work on their initiative and make a significant contribution to the team.

• Ability to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

• Ability to be flexible in hours of work (a must), a positive “can do” enthusiastic attitude towards addressing technical process challenges.
