Extrusion Machine Setter/Operator

The Company

One of the UK’s leading PVC manufacturers are looking to recruit an Experienced Extrusion Setter/Operator due to new and exciting growth plans based at their head office in Greater Manchester on a rotating Double Days shift pattern. 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm rotating weekly Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Setting, running and monitoring a PVC Extrusion Line for bespoke production
• Apply a hands on approach implementing production programmes with agreed quality and speed parameters.
• Daily duties will include recording quality results and visual inspections, altering machine parameters if necessary, ocassional die cleaning and tool changes.
• Understanding dimensional checks and working to close tolerances.
• Some physical lifting of loads may be necessary during the course of the working day, especially when handling Injection Mould Tools and 25kg bags of plastic.
• Work place and working area must be kept clean and tidy. Good housekeeping standards are important.
• Safety footwear is deemed compulsory in this area and must be worn at all times.
• Perform within the requirements of your position and to the companies Health & Safety standards, as defined in the company Health & Safety Policy.
• To carry out any other duties when required. This could involve working in other departments within the factory as and when deemed necessary.

About you:

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, gained within a fast pasted manufacturing environment and have knowledge of working processing experience and knowledge of fault rectification within PVC Extrusion and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
